For more than 20 years we have been dedicated to providing natural protection at an affordable price with personalised service. Genevieve Serret created A Thousand & One Nets in 1996 to combine a background in fashion and hospitality with a love of textiles and travel. A Thousand & One Nets manufacture and import a niche  range of 100% cotton mosquito nets and exotic accessories and operate from our studio located in Brunswick Heads in northern NSW, Australia.  We have our cotton mosquito net fabric exclusively made in southern India, which has a rich tradition in cotton manufacturing.

The fabric is woven on an old style power loom, located in a rural family compound and provides a regular income for the extended family who rent out the machine for our orders. The task is largely monitoring the machine and adding spools of thread. The cutting and stitching is carried out at the modern facility which is a family owned company who manufacture towels of all kinds for the Indian and European markets. The working conditions are of a high standard and we are proud of the long association with our Indian colleagues and their high standard of workmanship.   
                                                 
Our cotton mosquito nets are available in 2 styles: hoop style and box canopy style. The hoop style nets are easy to install as they suspend from one point on the ceiling, usually a 'stick on' or 'screw in' hook or tied to a ceiling beam if there is one.  The cotton mosquito netting spreads around the bed and closes for full insect protection. 

 The box canopy style attaches to canopy beds or from 4 hooks positioned on the ceiling, one for each corner, to make the rectangle shape. The box net roof is slightly larger than the mattress size so the walls hang straight which creates a very spacious environment. The box net is a favourite for maximum airflow and can be draped in numerous ways for a romantic effect.

We also manufacture some of our cotton mosquito nets and textile creations in the studio in Brunswick Heads. We offer a custom made service for unique beds and any other design that our cotton mosquito net fabric would be suitable for.
